This notice explains what data we collect and why. It is written for parents. The last update was June 2026.
Who we are
My World Quest is a learning app for children aged 4 to 15. Contact us at hello@myworld.quest.
What we collect
- The child’s first name, if the parent enters it. This is optional.
- The home country, if the parent enters it. This is optional.
- The age band (Seedlings, Explorers, or Pioneers). We do not store the exact date of birth.
- Learning progress: stars, streaks, badges, and lessons completed.
- App settings: read-aloud on/off, high-contrast, large-text.
- An anonymous device ID used to count active users each day.
What we do not collect
- The child’s email, phone number, address, or photo.
- The child’s precise location.
- A device fingerprint or advertising identifier.
- Any behavioural profile for advertising purposes.
Where data is stored
The name, age band, progress, and settings are stored in the browser on your child’s device only. They are never uploaded to our servers.
The anonymous device ID and contact form messages are stored on servers in the European Union.
How long we keep data
- On-device data: until the parent clears it, or the browser storage expires.
- Anonymous device IDs: 12 months.
- Contact form messages: until the query is resolved, then deleted.
Legal bases
- Consent — for optional data such as the child’s first name.
- Legitimate interest — for anonymous usage counts.
Universal privacy standards for children
My World Quest is designed to universal, privacy-first standards for children — wherever your child lives. In practice that means:
- No advertising, no profiling, no data selling.
- Only the minimum data needed to save progress on this device.
- A parent/caregiver is in control at all times — view, export, delete.
- Kid-safe defaults on every setting.
AI features
Some features use AI to read text aloud or generate illustrations. Prompts never include a child’s personal information. Outputs are filtered for age-appropriate content before display.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what data is linked to your device.
- Export that data as a machine-readable JSON file.
- Correct any data that is wrong.
- Delete all data.
- Withdraw your consent at any time.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handled your data you can contact the data protection authority in your country. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Curriculum note
Our lessons are aligned to UK National Curriculum, IB, Cambridge, and Common Core. We are not a licensed school. Certificates are motivational, not accreditation.
