Your privacy, in plain words
Two versions — one for kids, one for grown-ups. Same promises.
👶 For kids — the short version
- We only save things that help YOU learn — like your name and your stars.
- Everything stays on your device. We do not send your info to strangers.
- No adverts, ever. No one is watching you. No one can chat with you.
- Your grown-up can delete everything at any time.
👨👩👧 For parents & caregivers
What we collect
- Child's first name (optional) — used only to personalise greetings.
- Home country (optional) — used to seed the first passport stamp.
- Age band (Seedlings 4-6 / Explorers 6-10 / Pioneers 10-15) — we do NOT store exact date of birth.
- Learning progress — stars, streak, mastered lessons, country stamps.
- App settings — big-text, high-contrast, read-aloud toggle.
What we do NOT collect
- No date of birth, address, phone number, email, or photograph.
- No precise location, device fingerprint, or advertising identifier.
- No behavioural profile, no cross-site tracking, no targeted ads.
- No child-to-child chat, no user-generated content visible to others.
Where the data lives
All child data is stored on your child's device (browser localStorage). It never leaves this device unless you explicitly enable a server-backed feature. If a lawful cross-border transfer is ever required, we will notify you and obtain fresh consent.
Parental consent
By continuing past the age-band picker, you (the parent or caregiver) confirm that you consent to the above data being stored on this device to run the learning experience for your child. We keep a timestamped record of this consent locally. You can withdraw consent at any time using the button below.
Your data rights
You may (a) view all data we hold on your child, (b) correct or export it as machine-readable JSON, (c) withdraw consent, and (d) delete all data permanently — all directly from the Parents area.
AI features
Any AI feature (e.g. voice read-aloud, or the “Ask the Globe” tutor when it is enabled) has strict child-safety filters, never asks for personal information, never directs the child off-platform, and never logs anything that identifies the child. A separate Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) is on file for each such feature.
Curriculum alignment (not accreditation)
Our lessons are aligned to the UK National Curriculum, IB, Cambridge and Common Core frameworks. We are a learning centre, not a licensed school. We do not issue formal qualifications. Certificates you may print are motivational, not accreditation.
