Crack the code · 3 slots

Matter can be a solid (coldest), a liquid (middle), or a gas (hottest). Use these science facts to crack the secret code!

Clues

  1. Just like solid → liquid → gas goes from coldest to hottest, the three digits in the code go from smallest to biggest, left to right.
  2. The number 6 is in the code — like the 6 sides of an ice crystal, which is a solid, the coldest state of water.
  3. The last digit is 9 — gases are the hottest state, and 9 is the biggest digit, so it goes last!
  4. A liquid is warmer than a solid — so the middle digit is bigger than the first digit.
  5. Add up all three digits in the code and you get 18 — the same number of degrees difference between the three states in our puzzle!
