Your Shadow Friend!

Stand in the sunshine. Look down. Can you see a dark shape? That dark shape is YOUR shadow! Wave your hand. Does your shadow wave too?

Light travels in straight lines. When YOU stand in the light, your body blocks it. The light cannot go through you. A dark patch appears on the ground. That dark patch is your shadow. No light, no shadow. Bright light makes a strong shadow.
