The technology industry is one of the largest and fastest-growing industries in the world. It does not only employ people who write code. Here are six major career areas, each demanding a different set of skills.
**1. / Engineer**
A software developer writes the instructions — called code — that make apps, websites, and programs work. They need strong logical thinking, problem-solving, and knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript. Strong maths skills help, but creativity matters just as much.
**2. (User Experience Designer)**
A UX designer figures out how a product should feel to use. They research real users, sketch layouts called wireframes, and run tests to check that people can navigate the product easily. This role suits people who love both creativity and psychology — understanding why people behave the way they do.

A cybersecurity analyst protects computer systems and data from hackers and other threats. They look for weaknesses — called vulnerabilities — before attackers do, and they put safeguards in place. This career requires analytical thinking, attention to detail, and an understanding of how networks and operating systems work.
