What is weather?

Weather is what the sky is doing right now. Is it bright and warm? Or wet and cold? We look outside every day to see the weather. The weather can change from sunny to rainy. Weather helps us pick what clothes to wear!

Four important weather words

Sunny means the sun is shining brightly. Cloudy means clouds cover the sky. Rainy means water drops are falling from clouds. Snowy means white flakes fall when it is cold. These four words help us talk about weather!

Looking at the sky

We can see weather by looking up! A sunny day has a blue sky. A cloudy day has grey or white clouds. On a rainy day, you might need wellies. On a snowy day, the ground turns white.

Weather changes every day

Today might be sunny. Tomorrow might be rainy! Weather is always changing. That is why we check every morning. Different weather makes the world look different.
