Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine you are watching a film. A lone astronaut floats silently toward an unknown planet. Now imagine the same shot — but someone has swapped the soundtrack for a cheerful carnival tune. Suddenly it feels completely wrong. That jarring mismatch is the power of a soundtrack. Film composers make dozens of tiny musical decisions every second to control exactly how you feel. Warm-up question: Think of a film, game, or TV show whose music you remember clearly.
