Zero: The Empty Number

Imagine you have five grapes, then eat them all — what's left in your hand? When you count stairs or toys, zero tells you "none are here" — that is a very useful number! Zero is special because adding it to any number keeps that number exactly the same — try it with your fingers! When you finish, try drawing an empty bowl and writing zero underneath it.
