You have almost certainly used Shakespeare's words today — without knowing it. Phrases like 'break the ice', 'bedroom', 'lonely', and 'addiction' were either invented or first recorded in Shakespeare's writing. Look at this sentence: 'It was a lonely night, and the cold broke the ice between the two strangers.' Three of those ideas trace back to one man who lived over 400 years ago. How is it possible that a single person could change the way billions of people speak?
