Read these two sentences carefully: 1. 'The playground was very noisy.' 2. 'The playground was a zoo.' Both sentences are about a noisy playground — but one of them is much more exciting. Sentence 2 does not mean there were real animals! Instead, it paints a picture in your mind. The writer is saying the playground felt as wild and chaotic as a zoo. Writers do this kind of thing all the time to make their words come alive. Today you are going to find out exactly what this trick is called.
