Capital Letters and Full Stops: The Sentence Superheroes

Most readers feel that Version B is easier and cleaner to read. There are two tiny marks that make a big difference — a capital letter at the start and a full stop at the end. A sentence is a group of words that makes a complete thought. Every sentence needs two things to be correct: a capital letter at the very beginning and a full stop at the very end. **Capital letters** are the big, tall versions of letters — A, B, C instead of a, b, c. We use a capital letter for the very first word of every sentence. Capital letters act like a green traffic light: they tell your reader, 'A new sentence is starting here!' **Full stops** are tiny dots (.) that sit at the end of a sentence. A full stop acts like a red traffic light: it tells your reader, 'This sentence is finished. You can pause.'
