Four seasons
Name each season.
What are the four seasons?
A year has four seasons. The seasons are spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Each season is different. The weather changes in each season. Plants and animals change too. We see different things outside in each season.
Spring
Spring comes after winter. The weather gets warmer. Baby animals are born. Flowers start to grow. Trees grow new leaves. Birds sing and build nests. Spring is a time when things start growing.
Summer
Summer comes after spring. Summer is the warmest season. The days are long and sunny. We can play outside more. Trees have lots of green leaves. Many plants have flowers. Some people go to the beach.
Autumn
Autumn comes after summer. Autumn is also called fall. Leaves change colour to red, orange, and yellow. Leaves fall off the trees. The weather gets cooler. Animals collect food for winter. Days get shorter.
Winter
Winter comes after autumn. Winter is the coldest season. Some places get snow and ice. Trees have no leaves. Days are short and dark. Some animals sleep all winter long. We wear warm coats and hats outside.
