Name the seven days in order.
The Seven Days
Every week has seven days. They always come in the same order. Monday is the first day of the week. Then comes Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sunday is the last day of the week.
Starting the Week
Monday is when many people go back to school. It is the beginning of a new week. Tuesday comes right after Monday. Wednesday is in the middle of the week.
The End of the Week
Thursday comes after Wednesday. Friday is often a happy day. Saturday and Sunday are the weekend days. Then Monday starts a new week again!
Remembering the Order
The days always stay in the same order. They never change places. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Then the pattern starts again with Monday.
Worked examples
1. What day comes after Monday?
- Think of the days in order: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...
- Tuesday comes right after Monday.
- The answer is Tuesday.
2. What day comes before Sunday?
- Say the days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Saturday is just before Sunday.
- The answer is Saturday.
3. What is the third day of the week?
- Count the days: Monday is first, Tuesday is second.
- Wednesday is the third day.
- The answer is Wednesday.
