What is a label?

A label is one word that tells us what something is. Labels help us name things we see. We use labels all the time!

Labels are just one word

A label is not a sentence. It is just one word. If you see a picture of a cat, the label is cat.

How to write a label

Look at the picture carefully. Think about what it is. Write one word that names it. That word is your label!

Labels start with a letter

Every label starts with a letter. Sometimes we use a capital letter. Sometimes we use a small letter. Both are fine for labels.
