Blend the sounds
Push two or three sounds together into a whole word.
What is blending?
Blending means pushing sounds together to make a word. You say each sound, then say them fast together. It helps you read new words all by yourself!
How to blend sounds
First, say each sound slowly. Next, say them a bit faster. Then say them really fast to make the word. Let's try it together!
Start with two sounds
Two sounds are easier to blend. Say the first sound. Then say the second sound. Now push them together quickly. Well done!
Try three sounds
Three sounds take a bit more practice. Say all three sounds slowly. Then say them faster and faster. Soon you will hear the word!
